1. Who we are and how to contact us
Reading Times operates https://readingtimes.online/ (the “Website”). This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, disclosed, and handled when you visit the Website or contact us.
The operator responsible for personal information is [full legal name of the individual or business operating Reading Times], located in [country and business contact address, where required].
For privacy questions or requests, contact [working, monitored privacy email address]. Use the subject line “Privacy Request — Reading Times.”
This policy covers our Website. Facebook, Instagram, advertising destinations, and other external services have their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, message, and attachments. Please do not submit passwords, payment details, government identification numbers, or sensitive information that is unnecessary to your request.
Technical and usage information. Our Website and its hosting, security, and other active service providers may process your IP address, browser and device details, operating system, referring page, requested pages, timestamps, and information about errors or suspicious activity. IP addresses can indicate an approximate location.
Cookie and advertising information. Active analytics or advertising services may process cookie identifiers, device identifiers, page visits, and interactions with content or advertisements. The providers and purposes actually used are identified in Section 5 and our cookie information.
[If comments, newsletters, user accounts, push notifications, or submission forms are enabled, describe each feature’s information collection, purposes, recipients, and controls here. Remove this instruction before publishing.]
3. Why we use information
We use personal information as applicable to:
- Deliver the Website and display requested content.
- Respond to messages and privacy requests.
- Maintain security, investigate abuse, and troubleshoot technical problems.
- Understand readership and improve performance, where analytics is enabled.
- Display advertisements and measure their performance, where advertising is enabled and permitted.
- Record privacy preferences and comply with legal obligations.
Where European or UK data protection law applies, our legal basis depends on the activity: consent for processing that requires consent; legitimate interests in operating and securing the Website where those interests are not overridden by your rights; compliance with legal obligations; or taking requested steps before a contract or performing a contract, where relevant.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies can store or access information on your device.
Our active technologies fall into these categories:
- Necessary: delivering requested services, security, and remembering privacy choices.
- Preferences: remembering optional settings.
- Analytics: measuring readership, traffic sources, and Website performance.
- Advertising: delivering, measuring, or personalizing advertisements.
[Remove unused categories. Provide a current cookie list showing provider, purpose, category, and duration, either here or through a linked cookie settings panel.]
Where prior consent is required, optional technologies are activated only after you consent. You can reject optional categories or withdraw consent using [actual Cookie Settings link or control]. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already lawfully performed.
You may also delete or block cookies using your browser. This may affect Website features. Browser cookie controls may not stop all server-side processing, so use our privacy controls or contact us for relevant requests.
5. Advertising, analytics, and active providers
We disclose information to service providers as needed for hosting, security, technical maintenance, communications, analytics, or advertising, depending on the services actually enabled.
Active provider disclosures — complete before publication:
[For each active vendor, list: provider name; service/purpose; information collected or received; whether it acts as a processor or independently determines its use; privacy policy link; and available privacy choices. Identify the hosting/CDN provider and any analytics or advertising providers.]
[If Adskeeper remains active, include it by name, explain its actual advertising and measurement functions and data collection, and link to https://www.adskeeper.com/privacy-policy/. If Google advertising or Google Analytics is active, identify the specific product and its data practices separately. Do not list a vendor merely because it appears in ads.txt.]
Advertising partners may use information across websites to deliver or measure interest-based advertisements, subject to applicable law and your choices. Depending on the arrangement and applicable law, these disclosures may constitute a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for targeted advertising even without a cash payment. Section 8 explains applicable choices.
6. Facebook, Instagram, and Meta
If you visit from Facebook or Instagram, we may receive ordinary referral information indicating where the visit originated. Visiting from a Meta service does not itself mean that you have created an account with Reading Times or authorized us to access your private messages.
Optional Meta tracking disclosure — retain and complete only if these tools are active:

We do not request your Facebook password to read stories on our Website.
Meta’s privacy practices are explained at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/. Meta advertising preferences are available at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences/. These Meta controls do not replace the choices available on our Website.
7. Other disclosures
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, investigate fraud or security incidents, protect people and legal rights, or complete a business transfer subject to applicable safeguards. We may also disclose information at your direction or with your consent.
Any public comment or submission feature, if enabled, will identify what information becomes public before you submit it. Avoid posting private information about yourself or others.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, applicable law, and the nature of our processing, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or complain to a data protection authority.

9. Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for its stated purpose, legal obligations, security, or dispute resolution. We consider the information’s sensitivity, purpose, legal requirements, and whether deletion or de-identification is possible.
[Specify actual periods or concrete criteria for contact messages, server/security logs, analytics, advertising identifiers, consent records, and backups. Identify relevant vendor retention settings.]
10. International processing and security
Our providers may process information outside your country. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use the relevant lawful transfer arrangements.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the information we process. No online system is completely secure.

If you believe a child has provided information, contact [privacy email] so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Additional age-related protections apply where required by law.
12. External links and changes
External websites and embedded services may collect information under their own policies. Review those policies before interacting.
We may update this policy when our practices or requirements change. The revised version will show a new “Last updated” date. We will provide additional notice or obtain fresh consent where required.
Owner implementation notes — do not publish as part of the policy
- Replace the real contact information consistently across Privacy Policy, Contact Us, and Terms of Service. Verify the inbox receives messages.
- Repair the existing policy URL or redirect it to a working canonical page. Link it visibly in the footer on every page.
- Inventory cookies, plugins, ad scripts, analytics, Meta Pixel, and server-side integrations. A basic public page inspection cannot establish which tools load for every visitor or what the server sends.
- Complete the provider list, cookie durations, retention details, legal operator identity, and applicable regional rights disclosures.
- Configure and test actual consent and opt-out behavior. A banner or a policy statement alone does not block tracking. Ensure relevant server-side events also honor choices.
- Do not publish claims such as “we never sell or share data,” “all data is anonymous,” or “we are fully GDPR/Meta compliant” without a verified factual and legal basis.
- Keep advertising distinct from story navigation. Review Meta posts for engagement bait. Avoid asking readers to type a keyword or like a post specifically to boost reach.
- Describe fictional or AI-assisted material accurately through a separate editorial disclosure where appropriate; a privacy policy cannot fix misleading story presentation.
- This is a practical replacement draft, not a completed technical audit or jurisdiction-specific legal opinion. Confirm applicable legal requirements before publication.
Review evidence and sources
Checked 20 October 2026.
- The homepage was publicly reachable. The existing Privacy Policy at https://readingtimes.online/?page_id=3 and the /privacy-policy/ path returned errors during this review; search results still indexed the policy. This is an observed accessibility problem, not proof of permanent removal.
- Indexed policy text included an instruction beginning “After you paste this” and directions to add an email/date.
- Indexed Contact Us text at https://readingtimes.online/?page_id=1800 showed info@example.com for privacy questions.
- The public inspection did not establish a complete live vendor list or verify consent behavior.
