asked.<\/p>\n<p>Mom turned on him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you think maintaining this place is free?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The accusation came so quickly that I recognized her own fear underneath it.<\/p>\n<p>She was trying to convert the loan into a sacrifice.<\/p>\n<p>She had done something difficult.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the rest of us owed her silence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were bills,\u201d she said.
