Next to her was\u00a0<b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"112\">Maya<\/b>, whose face was a mask of fierce defiance, though tears tracked through the dust on her cheeks.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">But it was the third person who made my blood run cold. You cannot discipline my son, and that little brat needs to be punished.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"23\">Principal Vance stood up, his posture suddenly straight and commanding. \u201cMrs. Gable, your son\u2019s actions violate our strict anti-bullying and harassment policies. Realizing she had completely lost, she grabbed her son\u2019s arm and stormed out of the office, slamming the door behind her.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"27\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Part 4: The Legacy<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"28\">Once the door clicked shut, the heavy, suffocating tension in the room vanished.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"29\">Principal Vance let out a long breath and looked at\u00a0<b data-path-to-node=\"29\" data-index-in-node=\"52\">Maya<\/b>. She looked at\u00a0<b data-path-to-node=\"33\" data-index-in-node=\"108\">Maya<\/b>, then at me. \u201cThank you,\u201d she whispered.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"34\">As we walked out of the school building, the afternoon sun felt warm and bright.\u00a0<b data-path-to-node=\"34\" data-index-in-node=\"81\">Maya<\/b>\u00a0held my hand tightly, her shoulders finally relaxing.
