A prediction from Nostradamus has resurfaced after the US-Israeli attacks on Iran on Saturday (28 February)<\/strong><\/h4>\n

People have been linking the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict to an old Nostradamus prediction.<\/p>\n

For people who are unfamiliar, Nostradamus, real name Michel de Nostredame, was a French astrologer and seer who was born in 1503 and died in 1566.<\/p>\n

He was responsible for the text Les Propheties, which outlined his 942 predictions in the form of poems, written in a mixture of word order in many languages to avoid the Church\u2019s wrath.<\/p>\n

As we say, one of them have resurfaced as people are questioning whether it could be linked to the current conflicts after the joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran on Saturday (28 February).<\/p>\n

Donald Trump\u2019s attack saw Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader, Khamenei, amongst a number of other officials, k-i-lled and the Middle Eastern nation responded by firing ballistic missiles at Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan.<\/p>\n

When more countries are getting involved, the conflict has sparked WW3 fears, which in turn has led people to revisit Nostradamus\u2019 specific prediction about war.<\/p>\n

As outlined by Sky History, Nostradamus never dated 2026 explicitly, yet experts have guessed that some of his prophecies could be linked to this year.<\/p>\n

One prediction that pops up every now and again is the \u2018seven years war\u2019 verse.<\/p>\n

It cryptically reads: \u201cSeven months great war, people dead through evil. Rouen, Evreux the King will not fail.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some people believe the elusive passage alludes to a wider global conflict resulting in a third World War, and as we say, have linked it to the current tensions.<\/p>\n

But just to reiterate, in spite of the social media rumours, this passage has never been linked to a specific year \u2013 it\u2019s resurfaced numerous times when conflict has been going on.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also important to note that the place names, Rouen and \u00c9vreux, are rooted in 16th century French geography, and obviously these are nothing to do with Iran, the US, or Israel.<\/p>\n

One X user claimed: \u201cNostradamus predicted that a major world war would break out in the year 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

While a second eerily added: \u201cAnd so the Great Third World War arming in the east as foreseen by Nostradamus begins. Not has occurred. The party is just getting started. These are dangerous times. Keep the Faith.\u201d<\/p>\n

And a third wrote: \u201cNostradamus predicted that there would be a world war to end all wars because it would bring humanity to the brink of extinction.\u201d<\/p>\n

A fourth brutally chimed in with: \u201cI thought we had averted Nostradamus prediction of the end of the world with the Middle East war after Israel Gaza had their peace treaty. But Trump is, of course the antichrist and is willing to finish the job.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNostradamus apparently predicted a world war 3 starting in the Middle East. Is this it? Hope not,\u201d questioned a fifth.<\/p>\n

Sky History also claims that a lot of the chaos around Nostradamus\u2019 predictions comes from something called confirmation bias, which is where meaning is assigned to a prediction after the event is already happened.<\/p>\n

So, don\u2019t take the prophecies, or what you see on social media, as gospel.<\/p>\n

Iran strikes: what you need to know<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Why is the United States and Israel attacking Iran?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

US President Donald Trump made announcement on Saturday (28 February) that the US and Israel have started \u2018major combat operations\u2019 in Iran after explosions were heard in multiple cities across the country.<\/p>\n

Following a significant buildup of US forces in the region in recent weeks, Trump declared in a video posted on Truth Social that \u2018we are going to destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground\u2019.<\/p>\n

Alongside hundreds of civilian casualties \u2013 including at least 153 people and children after a reported strike hit a school in Minab \u2013 Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was confirmed dead following Israeli missile strikes around Tehran.<\/p>\n

According to Trump, the aim of this weekend\u2019s attacks were to \u2018ensure that Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon\u2019.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in reference to Israel\u2019s retaliation strikes, the country\u2019s defence minister stated that the goal was to \u2018remove threats against the State of Israel\u2019.<\/p>\n

This has come after weeks of Trump threatening military action in Iran if the Middle Eastern country did not agree to a new deal over its nuclear programme. However, Iran has insisted repeatedly that its nuclear activities are \u2018entirely peaceful\u2019.<\/p>\n

What areas of the Middle East have been affected?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In retaliation to the US and Israeli strikes, Iran has launched strikes of its own on Israel and Gulf Arab countries, which include Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait.<\/p>\n

The BBC reports that at least nine people were k-i-lled in a strike on the Israeli city of Beit Shemesh, while military and civilian targets \u2013 including an American naval base in Bahrain and Dubai\u2019s international airport in the United Arab Emirates \u2013 were also targeted across the weekend.<\/p>\n

Several videos have been posted on social media from tourists and civilians that show the damage inflicted across these areas from missile and drone strikes, including many British citizens who are currently stranded in Dubai.<\/p>\n

Is the UK going to war with Iran?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

This is a question that has been asked repeatedly since the major combat operation began in Iran, due to the nation being an ally of both the United States and Israel.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed that British planes were \u2018in the sky\u2019 in the Middle East as part of a defensive operation \u2018to protect our people, our interests and our allies\u2019, and condemned Iran\u2019s retaliatory attacks on \u2018partners across the region\u2019.<\/p>\n

While the UK did not participate in the strikes, Starmer released a joint statement with the leaders of France and Germany, calling for Iran to \u2018refrain from indiscriminate military strikes\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIran can end this now,\u201d Starmer said. \u201cThey should refrain from further strikes, give up their weapons programme and cease the appalling violence and oppression of the Iranian people \u2013 who deserve the right to determine their own future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Yvette Cooper, has said it is \u2018simply not true\u2019 that the UK is being dragged into another Iraq-style conflict in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

While addressing a reported Iranian drone strike on a RAF base in Cyprus, she told Sky News on Monday, 2 March: \u201cWe took a very specific decision not to provide support for strikes that were taking place over this weekend.
