According to NBC News<\/a>, authorities are searching for a man who stands between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and has an average build. She said parts of the man\u2019s face were covered by a ski mask, and she had to estimate the hidden features.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Gibson noted that only the eyes and part of the lips and mustache were somewhat clear in the footage.<\/p>\n Drawing on her 43 years of experience assisting detectives with similar images, she said she did her best with the available material and acknowledged she would accept responsibility if the likeness proved to be significantly inaccurate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n She also urged critics to create their own version instead of attacking her work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The sketch quickly drew attention online, prompting a wave of reactions from netizens. One person\u00a0wrote<\/a>,\u00a0\u201cIt Looks like the delivery driver they let go [sic]??!!!\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Another\u00a0commented<\/a>,\u00a0\u201cI can\u2019t wait until they catch this guy and see how close you are, great job Lois.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0A third\u00a0added<\/a>,\u00a0\u201cI bet you\u2019re close.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Gibson\u2019s path to forensic art began decades ago after a violent assault changed her life. In a November 2012 interview with ABC News, she said she was 21 years old and working as a model and dancer in Los Angeles when she was raped.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI got attacked by a guy who almost choked me to death for 25 minutes straight,\u201d\u00a0said<\/a> Gibson, who was 62 at the time and worked for the Houston Police Department. \u201cWhen he finished, I was bleeding down my throat and my eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n She said the trauma left her seeking justice. \u201cLike nine out of 10 girls, I was too traumatized and wanted justice \u2014 but I couldn\u2019t get it,\u201d she\u00a0added<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Gibson later witnessed police arresting a man she recognized as her attacker. \u201cI saw the arrest,\u201d she\u00a0mentioned<\/a>. \u201cI know what it is to see justice \u2026 It changes your life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n She shared that the experience motivated her to pursue a degree in forensic art from the University of Texas at Austin. She has since built a career helping law enforcement identify suspects through sketches.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Meanwhile, a man who said he was questioned in the kidnapping of Guthrie has been released.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n In a post shared to X on February 11, 2026, CBS News correspondent Andres Gutierrez included a\u00a0video interview<\/a>\u00a0with a man identified only as Carlos. The man said he was detained after a traffic stop in Rio Rico, Arizona.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Carlos works as a DoorDash driver and was pulled over while making deliveries. He said authorities told him they had stopped him in connection with a kidnapping.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He told reporters that\u00a0officers searched his car<\/a>\u00a0and home but did not initially ask him questions. He also said he did not know who Guthrie is or how she\u2019s related to\u00a0Savannah Guthrie<\/a>, as he doesn\u2019t follow the news or watch the \u201cToday\u201d show. He was unaware of why law enforcement believed he might be connected to her disappearance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Carlos added that, as a delivery driver, it is possible he had been in Guthrie\u2019s neighborhood before, but he had no specific memory of doing so.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Carlos described\u00a0feeling<\/a>\u00a0\u201cterrified\u201d and \u201clike I was being kidnapped\u201d when authorities took him into custody. \u201cThey didn\u2019t tell me anything at the beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t do anything\u2026 I\u2019m innocent,\u201d he\u00a0expressed<\/a>, adding that he hopes whoever took Guthrie gets caught so he can clear his name.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n As authorities continue to search for answers, investigators are also examining\u00a0disturbing physical evidence<\/strong>\u00a0found outside Guthrie\u2019s home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n According to\u00a0recent reports by Fox News<\/a>, photos show blood droplets on the ground in front of Guthrie\u2019s front door and in her driveway. Law enforcement confirmed that DNA testing determined the blood belonged to Guthrie.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden told Fox News Digital that the droplets may offer insight into what happened.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cNancy Guthrie is bleeding from some area, either the hands or the face,\u201d Baden\u00a0said<\/a>. \u201cThe nature of the blood spots with little pale centers or donut shapes are typical for drops that come from the nose or mouth, because they\u2019re mixed with air.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThat means she\u2019s coughing up blood or dripping from the nose. Otherwise, there would be a dripping from a cut from above, possibly from the hands or face,\u201d Baden\u00a0opined<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Baden said the droplets suggest Guthrie may not have been able to stop the bleeding as she moved from the porch to the driveway.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThis blood dropped onto the porch area during an abduction,\u201d he\u00a0explained<\/a>. \u201cThey indicate that it did not occur by innocent means.
